The Register of Deeds is responsible for recording all real estate transactions in Greenwood County. This includes deeds, mortgages, oil & gas leases and platted additions to all cities in Greenwood County. The Register of Deeds also files financing statements and security agreements on personal property under the Uniform Commercial Code, Federal and State tax liens, powers of attorney and military discharges. In addition to recording transactions, the Register of Deeds is responsible for maintaining and preserving records based on statutory requirements.

Research

* Three public work stations are available for researching records from 2003 to present.
* Numerical Indexes from 1858 to present are available for your use during the hours of 8-5, Monday thru Friday, with the exception of holidays.
* Property searches are available (free) by using the ORKA website which is hosted by the State of Kansas. (simply follow the link, click on Greenwood County, then search by name, address or legal description)
